We are pleased to announce our acceptance of three silver awards in the Tube Council of North America’s 2020 Tube of the Year competition. The recognition includes silver awards for Best Dentifrice for Smile Direct^™ Premium White Fluoride, Best Personal Care Tube for Biore^® Brightening Jelly Cleanser, and Best Household/Industrial for Master Plumber^® Tub and Tile Caulk.

The Smile Direct^™ tube is a laminate tube produced in Evansville, Indiana. While most toothpaste packaging tubes are produced with an aluminum barrier, we developed a high-barrier, all polyethylene solution to offer full barrier protection. In addition, this tube contains 45% post-consumer resin, furthering our leadership position in providing sustainable solutions to the market. The artwork was printed on a white substrate with a custom purple to fit Smile Direct Club’s brand, adding an all-over matte varnish allowed contrast within the word “smile,” which was printed in gloss varnish. This decoration technique provided a strong visual and subtle glimmer to communicate what the toothpaste can do for the consumer’s smile.

The Biore^® Brightening Jelly Cleanser tube is also a laminated tube produced in our Evansville, Indiana facility. Designed with sustainability in mind, this tube contains a total of 33% PCR in the sleeve, shoulder, and cap. The tube features a holographic foil, combined with process images, providing a premium look. We used flexographic printing with its anilox equipment, to create distinct graphics from the lightest screens to heaviest solids.

The Master Plumber^™ Tube and Tile Caulk tube is an extruded tube produced in Easthampton, Massachusetts, and consists of a low-density polyethylene (LDPE) sleeve and shoulder. The caulk header equips the consumer with the best application for household repairs. The artwork on this tube is printed using dry offset print process on a white substrate.
