After the certification of the Pouso Alegre, Brazil location in "Zero Waste" by the Zero Waste International Alliance (ZWIA), the team continues to evolve in its environmental management and now goes beyond its physical limits and creates actions to benefit the community in its region.

At least 15 team members from the Pouso Alegre site and four instructors cleaned the Sapucai Rivers using kayaks along a 9 km journey. Before the activity, Berry employees received a lecture on the story of the rivers and their importance for the local community, as well as instruction on how to use kayaks safely and take care when collecting waste.

From the team’s efforts, approximately 600 kg of waste was removed from the waterway including TVs, chairs, plastic waste, glass bottles, aluminum cans, among others.
