Enhanced UN Testing Facilities
Berry M&H UKI has upgraded its specialist in-house facility for the testing of blow moulded containers for UN Dangerous Goods accreditation.
The laboratory is already UKAS accredited to ISO 17025 and has also now achieved BVI accreditation, enabling it to carry out tests on containers manufactured throughout Europe.
At the same time, testing capacity has been increased with the doubling of space in the hot room and the introduction of more compact stack rigs.
The Berry M&H UN Testing Laboratory is able to handle the testing of both combination packs and freestanding containers up to 30 litres in size in a range of materials. Tests include dropping from up to 2.4m, stacking at 40oC for four weeks, air and hydraulic leakage.
In addition, the company’s technical support services can carry out a variety of performance tests and assessments on existing and new containers, including polymer specifications, environmental stress cracking (ESC), opacity and colour, and temperature storage analysis.
Bespoke test procedures can also be developed for special applications.
