Annually, we sponsor employees to further their sustainability education and journey through a five -day course at the Cambridge Institute for Sustainability Leadership (CISL), covering topics focused on climate change, nature loss, circularity, carbon emissions economics, environmental regulations and more.

Investing in Our Supply​

Whether your sustainability goals include nonwovens, films, or other solutions, we have invested in the use and access of necessary materials to help meet your sustainability needs on a global scale. As our customers are increasingly demanding greater access to circular resins, we have made significant investments in our supply – securing over 600M pounds of circular resins per year by 2025. We source these materials through strong partnerships with resin suppliers and services like waste and feedstock purchasing.

We continuously invest in the top resources to expand our transparency and ensure our customers receive circular resins that meet their standards, as well as market and industry regulations. Across the globe, we are leading the industry with more than 65 ISCC PLUS certified sites and will continue expanding this accreditation to provide you with the best access for sustainable materials. Investments like this, in addition to sourcing renewable energy and vertically integrated recycling, help us meet your circularity needs.

Spotlight: Customer Collaboration is Key to Bringing Circular Solutions to Market Faster

Berry Global partnered with Mitsubishi Gas Chemical Company, Inc. to improve the recyclability of food packaging with MXD6, a high-performance barrier solution for extruded articles, such as thermoformed items and extruded plastic tubes and bottles. The MXD6 barrier is recyclable up to 12% and received Critical Guidance recognition from the Association of Plastics Recyclers (APR), validating its compatibility with the Polypropylene (PP) recycling stream. Using MXD6 helps eliminate the performance and compatibility limitations of Ethylene Vinyl Alcohol (EVOH), including limited recyclability and reprocessing issues that cause degradation and contamination, and offers an alternative during material shortages. 

Berry Hosts Its Annual Earth Day Event and Supports Efforts to End Plastic Waste

In honor of Earth Day, we are hosting our annual community event at Berry Global’s headquarters in Evansville, IN. We have been celebrating Earth Day with this event for more than 30 years, giving students tours of our company’s largest manufacturing facility to offer an up-close look at how we are giving plastics multiple lives. Tours for more than 800 elementary students from across the local community include educational presentations and activities from Berry team members and our community partners, helping students understand the importance of reducing, reusing, and recycling in their daily lives.
