More Investments

Berry leads the industry in investments in the use and access of recycled material to help our customers achieve their sustainability goals and  further the development towards a circular economy.

Our Strategy Behind Investments

Setting sustainability goals has never been more critical.   Developing a plan to achieve these goals with your brand and products can be even more challenging.  To achieve your goals, Berry Global focuses on reducing the amount of material used as well as designing mono-material solutions that are compatible with recycling infrastructure systems in order to reduce the carbon impact throughout the entire product lifecycle.

Our Investments Lead the Industry In Accelerating Actions Towards a Circular Economy

Taking initial steps with world class capabilites.

From its inception, Berry creates customer value through our ability to lower costs by reducing raw material use across its product portfolio. What was initially believed to be a practical savings opportunity for customers, turned into corporate wide goals in reducing our operational impacts - a natural first step in sustainability improvements.

Growing Partnerships

Growing Partnerships

With an eye toward meaningful change toward a circular economy, Berry Global becomes a founding member of the Alliance to End Plastic Waste.  This partnership aims to create models for circularity and plastic waste diversion strategies that can be monetized in economies where plastic waste is concentrated.  Berry has since announced memberships with other organizations that support customer circularity goals and is partnering with a growing list of suppliers that believe in the technological advances necessary to give our natural resources multiple lives.

In 2018, Berry invested in the development program to launch the Bantam cup line-up, reducing its by weight by 12% versus prior thermoforming cup generations. This proof point, to marry sustainability benefits without compromising product quality and performance, supported further investment in material science and technical design for circularity.  Adding stock products with sustainability benefits propelled the organization further in its sustainability commitments within its product portfolio.

Leading Access to Circular Resins

Leading Access to Circular Resins

Berry Global announces its leading access to circular resins of over 600M lbs/year by 2025 across mechanical recycling and advanced recycling resins. Berry everages its global scale with the world's largest resin suppliers and long-term relationships with global brand owners to make major commitments to support customer sustainability goals,  Included in this access to circular resins is Berry's own recycling facilities strategically located in North America and the United Kingdom to supplement local delivery models and growing customer demand for closed loop systems.
