Thermoforming

An extruded sheet is formed in a flat die running through a roll stand. The sheet is then reheated in a heat tunnel before entering a mold. The sheet is rotated vertically while vacuum and air pressure are applied to opposite sides of the sheet, creating a part within the web. Parts are then either trimmed from the web within the mold or transferred to a secondary trim station. Thermoforming is generally used for drink cups, trays and food packaging.

Rotational Molding

Rotational Molding is ideal for making large drums, fuel, aquaculture and double wall tanks. Pre-weighed plastic resin and colorant are dumped into a large mold that is externally heated and rotated on a large axis.
