Disclosure Practices

Berry Global values being transparent and accessible with our internal and external stakeholders on key sustainability issues. To provide completeness and balance, data estimation and extrapolation may be used where necessary and data exclusions are referenced if undertaken.

Report Scope

The information in our annual sustainability report represents that of Berry Global Group, Inc. and all our subsidiaries, from our 2023 Fiscal Year, October 2, 2022 to September 30, 2023, unless otherwise noted. Our Scope 1 & 2 greenhouse gas emissions data is calendar normalized to an October 1, 2022 – September 30, 2023 reporting period in line with our external assurance process. A full list of subsidiaries can be found in the appendix of our most recent annual sustainability report. This report supersedes our previous Sustainability Report, released in March 2023.

Other Reports

Our Sustainability Report should be viewed in conjunction with other reports and disclosures, which make up our annual reporting.

Restatements of Information

In-line with our commitment to high-quality reporting, previous year’s data may be reinstated to enable comparability of information between reporting periods and so progress towards goals can be accurately measured. Due to divestments and methodology improvements during the reporting period, baseline and previous years environmental data has been restated in this report. As a result, adjusted data for prior years for GHG Emissions, Energy, Water, and Waste is subsequently lower than reported in previous documents.

Historical data may have been updated in line with changes in internal or external reporting methodology, and data estimation and extrapolation may be used where necessary. Percentages may not equal 100% due to rounding.

Report Frameworks

We believe it is important to provide annual updates on our management approach and key metrics for material sustainability issues in-line with the reporting principles and key report frameworks.
